  Breckland Strut Fathers’ Day Fly-In — 20 June 2010
What do you think of the show so far? A ‘thumbs up’ from Nic Hart immediately after taking off in his Sport Cruiser. Visiting aircraft numbers were reduced at the 2010 Fly-In and BBQ, although the morning’s cloud lifted as the day progressed and the wind lost some of its strength and unpredictability. That said, more than a few optimists pointed out that the previous day’s weather would have given us a total washout. Happily, social activity was unimpaired and many acquaintances were renewed, especially with former members who had retired from flying or moved away.

MTOsport G-CGDC arrives from Shipmeadow, near Bungay, while Dave Clark’s Diamond Star waits for take-off

A bit of a cross wind. Sky Ranger G-HMCB crabs away for home in the teeth of a brisk nor’westerly, Tacolneston masts in the background

The tradition of outside dining — albeit in warm clothing — is maintained on Fathers’ Day as the Sky Ranger shift is changed: one in, one out

Perhaps debating how well (or otherwise) the Strut is now being run, former Co-Ordinators Larry De’Ath (left) and Stuart Slater, with Irene Slater looking on

Any more for cake? Helen Horn’s cakes were eagerly snapped up as a very welcome alternative to ‘pudding’. Mik keeps one eye on the counter at all times.
